LEISURE
The movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory gave me 1001 ideas as a teenager: how cool would it be to recreate this and really let visitors experience that chocolate river and three-course-meal-chewing-gum? The master Leisure Studies was therefore an obvious choice. This study focuses on the economy, psychology and sociology of leisure (consisting of recreation, sports, culture and media). The experience, communication and marketing of products, services and activities are central to this. A treat for my interests!
MARKETING
After my studies, I specialized in consumer marketing at attractions such as Madurodam and the ss Rotterdam. Later, I made the switch to B2B marketing in the leisure industry, as a deepening of my career. In 2018, I started as a freelancer, and I was lucky that three organizations immediately needed my marketing efforts. Working on various assignments and for various clients turned out to work well for me; regular changes of environment and challenges keep me sharp and curious.
MAGIC
What fascinates me most about marketing is the process of getting to know a brand and its target audience. By applying that knowledge in the right way, you create brand experiences that not only deliver results for companies, but also make people truly happy. I find it magical to see how everything comes together: an environment in which people enjoy an experience that is right from start to finish. That joy in others gives me enormous satisfaction.
